The Associação dos Jovens Macaenses (AJM) and Conselho das Comunidades Macaenses (CCM) has announced the Youth Encontro 2018 in Macau, including a trip to mainland China. Pending final confirmation, the approximate dates are October 23 – October 28 in Macau; and October 29 – November 2 in the Province of Anhui, China.
Three representatives of each Casa Macau worldwide, between the ages of 18 and 45 years, will be chosen to represent their respective clubs during the event which includes meetings and traveling and hotel costs supported by the AJM, CCM and Macau SAR. We are starting our candidate selection process to represent Lusitano Club of California. Participation in all events is required and each representative is required to get their own China visa.
If you are interested and able to attend in October, please email lusitanoclubusa@gmail.com by June 1, 2018. Please include a picture of yourself, and answer the following questions:
1. Brief bio about yourself (including full name and age)
2. Why should the Club choose you for this trip?
3. Have you participated in any Lusitano functions?
Club President Jessica Xavier participated in the Macau Youth Encontro 2015 and it was an amazing experience. You will meet new lifelong friends and you will most likely meet someone who is related to you. You will learn about your Macau ancestry, traditions and culture. She highly recommends that if you have the time and are interested in learning about your Macanese heritage to please apply to be considered as a candidate.
