On October 11th, FLAD will proudly present the concert “Amália in America – Beyond Fado” at the Carnegie Hall, one of the most iconic venues in NYC. This special evening will feature the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra, in their first visit to the USA, and some of the most renowned names of Fado.
Seventy years ago, Amália Rodrigues graced the stage of the Lincoln Center in New York, and now we honor that legacy and celebrate one of our greatest singers and forever a symbol of Portuguese culture. In 1984, her album “Amália Rodrigues – On Broadway” was a huge success, featuring popular songs of that era.
We sincerely hope you will join FLAD in filling the Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall for this momentous occasion at 8 PM (Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage).
